Pedestrian killed in Nov. 4 downtown Fresno accident identified

The Fresno BeeNovember 25, 2013

A man killed Nov. 4 in downtown Fresno when he was struck by a big rig was identified by the Fresno County Coroner's Office as Rodney Martin, 58.

Police reported the incident happened as the big rig was eastbound on Ventura Avenue at Broadway. A witness told police the big rig had the green light when Martin stepped in front of it. Police later reported that the driver of the truck did not realize he had struck Martin.

Correction: The original version of this story, citing information provided by the coroner's office, incorrectly reported that Uriel Sanchez, 20, was killed. Sanchez died the same day in an automobile crash on Sonoma Avenue west of Five Points.
