Mississippi rock band 3 Doors Down announced new dates this week for its "Songs from the Basement Tour," which kicks off Jan. 10 in Reno. The tour will include a Jan. 15 stop at the Visalia Fox Theatre.
For this outing, the band — best known for the 2000 hit "Kryptonite" — will play acoustic versions of its catalog of music.
"We experimented with an acoustic show in Nashville and had such a great response that we decided to take it on the road," singer Brad Arnold says. "We've never toured like this before, some of these songs have never been played live."
Tickets for the Visalia show go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, and cost $30-$60. They will be available at the theater box office, (559) 625-FOX, or online at www.ticketfly.com. VIP seating goes on sale today; check www.3doorsdown.com for details.
The band has sold more than 16 million albums, have had three Grammy nominations, won two American Music Awards and five BMI Pop Awards for songwriting, including "Songwriter of the Year."
Last year, 3 Doors Down released a greatest hits collection with three new songs, including "One Light."
