City of Fresno to host tire collection center

The Fresno BeeNovember 14, 2013

People in Fresno with unwanted tires will be able to drop them off Saturday at the Highway City Community Center for recycling, said the city of Fresno's Community Revitalization Division.

The division used a grant from CalRecycle to fund Waste Tire Amnesty Day at 5140 N. State St. from 8 a.m. to noon or until two trailers are filled with tires. Each person must have identification that shows residency in Fresno.

There are restrictions regarding tires that can be recycled: no tractor or diesel tires, no business-generated tires, and each resident is limited to nine tires.
