A woman was arrested on armed robbery charges Monday morning after she bit a store clerk in southeast Fresno.
The incident took place about 11 a.m. at Ventura and Second streets.
Sgt. Carlos Frausto said the woman tried to take an item without paying and when the store clerk intervened, she bit him on the left thumb. That changed the crime from misdemeanor petty theft to a felony.
