The California Highway Patrol is using a federal grant to conduct a 12-month regional traffic safety campaign in Fresno County.
The campaign began Oct. 1 and will continue through Sept. 30, 2014. The Fresno-area CHP is enhancing enforcement on highways 41, 43, 63, 99, 145, 168 and 180. The campaign also includes roads such as Belmont, Fowler, Manning, Jensen and Shaw Avenues.
The campaign will also include a community-based task force and public awareness campaign to reinforce the traffic safety message.
Funding for the program is provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
