A wanted gang member was arrested Wednesday after visiting the grave site of his brother at a Fresno cemetery, police said.
Collin Stowers was wanted for a shooting investigation that took place at the Manchester Mall on Oct. 21. Stowers chased a victim through the mall while armed with a gun, police said. Stowers, who was wearing a GPS monitor at the time of the arrest, was already on pre-trial services for another weapons possessions case, police said.
Officers caught Stowers leaving the Belmont Memorial Park Cemetery on Belmont Avenue near Parkway Drive. His brother, Nathan Stowers, was shot and killed on Oct. 30, 2005. After stopping Collin Stowers on the freeway, police found a loaded gun under his seat and two other people were detained in the investigation. A 26-year-old passenger told police the firearm belonged to him.
