Firebaugh schools will celebrate the rebirth of music programs, and the donors who made it possible, at a celebration Tuesday at Arthur E. Mills Intermediate School.
Through a partnership with the VH1 Save The Music Foundation, several Firebaugh schools have opened new keyboard labs. The district also restored music programs.
The event at 10 a.m. at 1191 P St. will celebrate the keyboard labs and a $40,000 donation from Monster Inc. to the VH1 foundation.
In 2012, the intermediate school got a grant through the foundation for a keyboard lab. This year Hazel M. Bailey Primary School got a keyboard lab.
Greg Pedersen, brand and strategic alliance manager at Monster Inc., will join VH1 foundation official Jaclyn Rudderow, Fresno County schools Superintendent Jim Yovino and students at the event.
Pedersen will speak about the role of music in his life and in the company's development.
