A Fresno gang member wanted as a suspect in an Oct. 21 shooting was arrested Wednesday after he left the cemetery where his brother is buried, police Sgt. Paul Cervantes said.
Collin Stowers is suspected of chasing the shooting victim through Manchester Center while armed with a gun.
Stowers, who has a GPS monitor, is on pre-trial services for another weapons case, Cervantes said. His probation officer said he was visiting his brother's grave on the anniversary of when his brother was shot and killed in 2005.
Stowers was tracked by an undercover MAGEC unit to Belmont Memorial Park Cemetery in southwest Fresno, Cervantes said.
Stowers was arrested after he left the cemetery on Highway 99 near the Clinton Avenue off ramp.
Cervantes said police found a loaded .22 caliber derringer pistol under a car seat. Two other occupants in the car also were arrested.
Stowers was arrested for being a gang member in possession or having access to a firearm.
