Wide receiver Marlon Moore -- the ex-Fresno State star who parlayed a strong training camp and the 49ers' shortage at the position into an early-season shot at a starting job -- was waived Wednesday by San Francisco.
Moore was signed by the 49ers on March 19 in a homecoming of sorts for the former standout at Natomas High-Sacramento. He appeared in six games this season, but had just one reception for 6 yards and one rush for 9 yards.
The 26-year-old Moore spent his first three NFL seasons with Miami, where he made most of his impact on special teams but did catch 12 passes for 244 yards with two touchdowns.
Moore went undrafted out of Fresno State in 2010.
