Nearly two dozen vehicles were burglarized early Saturday morning within three miles of each other in north Hanford, police said.
The unknown suspects targeted unlocked cars or broke windows to steal wallets, purses and backpacks between midnight and 7 a.m., Hanford police said.
Three vehicles in the 1000 block of Heartwood Avenue were broken into, and several other vehicle burglaries occurred in the 1300 block of Dominic Avenue. Individual cars were broken into on other streets. In all, 22 vehicles were broken into.
There were also 12 reports on Saturday of slashed tires in southwest Hanford -- including on 10 vehicles near Silverado and West Davis avenues.
