American Medical Overseas Relief will hold its fall fundraising dinner and auction from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno, 2111 E. Nees Ave.
The dinner includes live and silent auctions, prizes and the opportunity for attendees to sponsor medical services and equipment at Afshar Hospital in Afghanistan.
Tickets are $30 each; children under age 12 are free. Tickets may be purchased online at www.amorelief.org, by phone at (559) 440-8330, or at the Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno.
American Medical Overseas Relief (AMOR) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health status of the communities it serves. AMOR focuses on maternal and newborn care, children's health, urgent care, and health and hygiene education. Up to 25% of Afghan children die of treatable and preventable diseases before their fifth birthday. One out of seven women die from complications related to pregnancy.
