Farmworker women can learn about education, health and social service topics at the 11th annual Farmworker Women's Conference on Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tulare County Fairgrounds.
The conference will be conducted in Spanish only. Translators will be available for English speakers.
Child care will be provided by the Proteus Inc. Child Care Program and a licensed child care provider. Transportation will be available from specific areas within the county. Registration for farmworker women is free, and both a continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. The attendees will have the opportunity to win door prizes, gift certificates, and food baskets.
The conference will provide workshops on gang prevention, school attendance, reading programs, mental health awareness, suicide prevention, chronic disease prevention, nutrition and parenting.
