Fundraising goal met, Fresno principal will don dress

The Fresno BeeOctober 26, 2013

Principal Jeremy Shipman of Terronez Middle School in southeast Fresno made a bold promise to students as motivation for scholarship fundraising: Raise $1,000, and you can parade me through campus wearing a dress.

His bribe worked -- students hit the goal (with the help of an extra $400 thrown in from staff).

At 8:20 a.m. Monday, Shipman will model his dress in front of the school at 2300 S. Willow Ave. A marching band, color guard and cheerleaders will accompany him during the big debut to celebrate the fundraising for Fresno Unified School District's Scholarship Fund.
