Three men have been arrested in connection with the Sept. 3 drive-by shooting that killed 17-year old Jorge Navarro of Madera, the Madera County Sheriff's Department said.
Arrested were David Solis Ramos and Alejandro Jimenez, both 19, and 20-year-old Isaias Ismael Bazante, all from Madera.
According to the sheriff's department, detectives learned that on the night of the shooting the suspects intended to use a farm labor van in a marijuana heist, but while driving toward the grow site they recognized Navarro walking near Martin Street and Road 27 and shot him.
Bazante was arrested last week. Late Tuesday afternoon, sheriff's detectives tracked down Ramos and Jimenez with assistance from the Madera Police Department.
All three were booked on suspicion of murder for the benefit of a criminal street gang. They are being held in lieu of $1 million bail, the sheriff's department said.
