I read the Oct. 22 commentary by Steve Spriggs related to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also called Obamacare. I support and agree with everything he says, but he is not asking Rep. Devin Nunes the appropriate question: Why is Rep. Nunes undermining and trying to kill the ACA?
Rep. Nunes' answers are illogical and nonsensical. I do understand the ACA distorted lies that uneducated and obtuse tea party sympathizers repeat like parrots after watching Fox News, but Rep. Nunes (College of the Sequoias, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo) was probably exposed to logic and reason at college. Rep. Nunes knows that the ACA will help many of his constituents by lowering the cost of medical insurance and reducing the national debt. So, why is he opposed to it?
We know the ACA will provide affordable medical insurance to approximately 40 million people, including about 50,000 poor people in Rep. Nunes' District 22. Is it not his duty to help all the people he represents? Can any tea party sympathizer help me understand what Rep. Devin Nunes is thinking?
