Madera County to host decathletes at WWI lectures

For the seventh year, decathletes from throughout California will meet in Madera on Thursday to attend lectures that address the topic of the county's academic decathlon competition.

More than 550 students will attend lectures about World War I given by local experts in theaters inside Movies Madera. Students can choose four of the six 50-minute lectures to attend from 10 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.

Movies Madera owner Bob Gran donated the theater and staff time for the event.
