DeWolf students to celebrate drug awareness week

The Fresno BeeOctober 23, 2013

DeWolf Continuation High School students will commemorate Red Ribbon Week, a week-long national campaign against youth drug use, with a tailgate and special keynote speech Thursday.

Assembly Member Jim Patterson, R-Fresno, will speak about drug awareness during the afternoon event.

A barbecue and assembly will follow.

Red Ribbon Week runs from Oct. 23-31 and dates back to 1985, when parents and their kids rallied against drugs and violence and started wearing red ribbons after a Drug Enforcement Administration agent was tortured and killed in Mexico.
