Kudos to Professor Thomas Whit-Ellis for his recent play, "The First Breeze of Summer." I have enjoyed Fresno State theater productions over the years very much, and this magnificently produced and directed work was no exception. His play was creatively and skillfully directed, despite very realistic budgetary constraints; the antithesis of the view expressed by Donald Munro Oct. 9, "awkward-and somewhat disappointing."
I was amazed by the professionalism of the cast; student actors more than ready for Broadway, i.e. true professionals. It takes a very talented director to inspire and nurture these qualities in their students. Overall, "First Breeze of Summer" was one of the very best plays I've ever seen, anywhere, a resounding success. Hats off to Professor Whit-Ellis and his phenomenal cast! I eagerly look forward to his next production.
