Man wanted on $1 million in warrants arrested in Clovis

The Fresno BeeOctober 22, 2013

A man wanted on felony warrants totaling $1 million was arrested Tuesday morning after he tried to break into a car in Clovis on the 1500 block of Chennault Avenue.

Neighbors yelled at the man, who ran. Clovis police found him near Jimbo's, in the 400 block of Herndon Avenue.

Antonio Hernandez, 27, of Fresno was arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft, receiving stolen property and possession of burglary tools. His outstanding warrants include having stolen vehicles and property, police said.

Another search of the area where Hernandez was originally seen turned up a stolen white Honda with stolen license plates in the 600 block of N. Fordham Avenue. Officers determined it was a stolen vehicle with stolen property inside belonging to someone in Fresno.

Hernandez was in possession of the "shaved key" to get into the Honda, police said.
