Linda Traynor champions a cornucopia of compelling errors in her Oct. 5 letter. Ms. Traynor insists that tea party Republicans have held America hostage in their rejection of Obamacare. Rather, they have insisted that the 19 attachments that President Obama penned be excluded from the law, for the president has no constitutional authority to legislate.
She assails Republicans for crafting the 2008 Wall Street bailout. No, Obama ordered the feds to earmark revenue for Wall Street and Corporate America, at large, beyond his constitutional authority and above the protests of Republicans.
Ms. Traynor continues her assault, lambasting Republicans for cutting SNAP, defunding social programs and entitlements, and recusing themselves from the deftless pleas of the poor, minorities, women and children.
These are reckless, ruthless attempts to debase Republicans without one shred of evidence to validate any such claim.
In reality, the tea party, far from Ms. Traynor's error-filled diatribe, is only striving to return America to her rightful place as the true leader of limited, self-governing, sovereign states that cherish liberty and embrace democratic-republican values, the values that have made her a nation of exceptionalists.
