A Madera man has been sentenced to more than 15 years in state prison for multiple charges, including threatening to stab his girlfriend with car keys, the Madera County District Attorney's Office said Friday.
Esteban Sandoval, Jr., 30, was sentenced for felony kidnapping, domestic violence and violating probation on two other felony cases, the District Attorney's office said.
The woman testified during the trial that she had previously dated Sandoval. She said in November 2012, Sandoval got mad because she was receiving text messages from a friend. He grabbed her cell phone and threw it at her face, cutting her. Sandoval then took her to his home against her will, telling her he was going to kill her, the District Attorney's office said.
