The ongoing theme about reviving downtown is always parking, parking, parking. Why should people go downtown and pay big bucks for parking when there are thousands of acres of free parking in the north, west and east parts of the city? When I heard that the federal government was to blame for the downturn in the Fulton Mall, I laughed for an hour. It was city leaders who allowed the still-happening trek north, west and east that caused the mall's demise.
To those of you who haven't been downtown lately, you should drive down there and look around at the beautiful trees, flowers and buildings. Pay your 50 cents to park and enjoy the view.
