Prior felons and school teachers were among eight men arrested Thursday on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution in an Internet-based sting, the Madera Police Department said.
An undercover female officer set up a fake account on the internet site "Red Book" -- known to be used for prostitution -- and contacted several men, police said. The men went to a hotel room in Madera and gave the undercover officer money and requested services, police said. Officers did not release the names of the eight men arrested.
Madera officers have conducted numerous stings over the past three months involving prostitution.
