Central Valley Community Bancorp reported a profit of $2,969,000, or 26 cents per share, for the third quarter of the year.
That's an increase from the third quarter of 2012, when the Fresno-based parent company of Central Valley Community Bank had net income of $2.4 million or 25 cents per share.
Bank representatives said the gains were the result of increases in interest income and decreases in allowances for income taxes for the company. The third-quarter figures also reflect the acquisition earlier this year of Visalia Community Bank.
