Dunkin' Donuts has announced plans to expand to the Central Valley and Central Coast with potential stores in Fresno, Bakersfield, Sacramento and Santa Barbara.
The company is looking for qualified franchisees to open both traditional restaurants and non-traditional venues, including colleges and universities, casinos, military bases, supermarkets, airports and travel centers. Over time, the Massachusetts-based donut chain plans to open as many as 1,000 restaurants throughout the state.
In January, the company began recruiting franchisees in Southern California. Since then, it has entered into franchise agreements to develop more than 70 freestanding restaurants in the region that will begin opening in 2015.
