6 Valley students get Sunkist scholarships

Six recent high school graduates from the Valley were awarded the Sunkist Growers-A.W. Bodine Scholarship, which honors students from agricultural backgrounds, officials said.

Raquel Campuzano Santamaria of Orosi; Steve Escarcega of Hanford; Scarlett Ceja of Tulare; and Rose Pier, Octavio Viramontes and Omar Viramontes all of Earlimart were among the recipients, including those whose scholarships have been renewed. The students will each receive $2,000 annually for four years of college based on an annual review.
