Two people suffered moderate injuries night when a paramedic unit collided with a Honda at the intersection of Shields and West avenues in central Fresno, said police Lt. Phil Cooley.
The two vehicles collided about , Cooley said.
The driver and a passenger in the ambulance sustained moderate injuries and were taken to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center.
Cooley said the ambulance was headed west on Shields Avenue and drove through a red light with its lights and sirens on. Cooley said the driver of the Honda, which was southbound on West Avenue, told police he was listening to music and didn’t hear or see the approaching ambulance.
Cooley said alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
