A 17-year-old boy suspected of stabbing his 21-year-old brother was arrested for attempted Wednesday in Coalinga, police said.
Police said they went to Michelle Street for a call about an out-of-control juvenile and found the 21-year-old brother standing in front of the home with a large cut to his calf. He said his 17-year-old brother stabbed him as he tried to prevent the brother from attacking their mother.
Police said the teen is also suspected of hitting the victim in the head with a solid weight-lifting bar bell.
The victim was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and treated for his injuries.
The teen was arrested and charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats. Police said he was taken to Fresno County Juvenile Justice Center.
