The Clovis Chamber of Commerce is offering an eight-month entrepreneurship training program for Clovis and Fresno high school students to develop business skills and ideas.
The Young Entrepreneurs Academy, developed by the University of Rochester and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, will begin Nov. 4 and conclude in June with classes meeting 4:30-7:30 p.m. every Tuesday, except during school breaks and holidays. The classes will be at the Willow International Community College Center in northeast Fresno. Tuition for the program is $395 per student, but some scholarships are available.
Instructors and guest speakers guide students through developing a business idea and business plan and how to present themselves professionally. The class culminates with investor presentations to business leaders who may donate funds to help students launch their businesses.
