Fresno County sheriff's deputy injured after rear-ending trailer rig

A Fresno County sheriff's deputy who rear-ended a trailer rig was taken to the hospital after sustaining moderate injuries.

Officials say the crash happened at about 2 a.m. Monday near Highway 180 and Clovis Avenue. Sheriff's spokesman Chris Curtice said the deputy involved was treated at an area hospital and released.

The truck driver was not injured in the collision.

No additional information on what caused the crash was available.
