The smell of marijuana landed two Porterville men in jail in connection with growing and possessing more than 20 pounds of pot, police said.
A Porterville police officer smelled marijuana after pulling the suspects over Friday during a traffic stop. The officer searched the car and recovered about 2 pounds of the drug.
Another 18 pounds plus more than 30 mature pot plants were found at the men's homes.
The men were booked in the Tulare County Jail on possession, cultivation and drug transportation charges.
One of the men, a convicted felon, was also charged with possessing ammunition.
