Mendota school awarded $16k for coastal field trips

A Mendota elementary school will get more than $16,000 to support five student field trips to Morro Bay State Park and Museum of Natural History.

McCabe Elementary School was awarded the funds as part of a project to get students, especially those in low-income communities, to California's coast.

The State Coastal Conservancy announced Thursday the recipients of the $1.3 project for Californians to explore the coast.
