Visalia community members are invited to Tucoemas Federal Credit Union's sixth annual Hats for Hope open house on Saturday at its Whitendale Branch to create hats that will be donated to cancer patients at treatment facilities throughout Tulare County.
The open house will be at 2300 W. Whitendale Ave. and provide new "hatters" with training and material to create hand-made hats for patients, bank spokesman Kurt Hardcastle said.
Over the past five years Hats for Hope has provided more than 17,000 hats to local medical facilities with the help of Tulare Senior Center, Grace Lutheran Church, Earlimart Middle School, Red Robin, San Joaquin Valley College and Glenwood Day Care.
