About 1,000 workers from Gerawan Farming protested in Kerman on Monday over being denied an opportunity to vote out the United Farm Workers union.
The workers gathered near Gerawan's tree packing plant in Kerman on Highway 145. Also present were a smaller number of workers in support of the union.
Last week, the state's Agriculture Labor Relations Board denied a petition filed by the workers seeking a decertification election. In its 12-page decision, the board found the petition lacked enough valid signatures and said many were forged.
The workers seeking to push the union out plan to file a new petition for decertification.
