A 52-year-old Los Banos woman was sentenced to five years in state prison for a DUI crash that seriously injured an Oakhurst physician earlier this year.
A Madera County Superior Court judge sentenced Cathy Robertson to prison on Thursday and ordered her to begin serving her sentence immediately, District Attorney Michael Keitz said. On Jan. 20, Robertson was leaving the Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino in Coasegold about 8 p.m. when she drifted across the southbound lanes of Highway 41 and into oncoming traffic. She collided with the car driven by John McBride, seriously injuring him, Keitz said. Robertson ran from the crash but was soon arrested by the California Highway Patrol.
Robertson was convicted in July of felony DUI causing great bodily injury and felony hit and run, Keitz said.
