A fire at a Hanford home Thursday caused $130,000 in damages, fire officials said.
The blaze started about 1 p.m. in the 2100 block of Beechwood Court. When firefighters arrived, heavy fire and smoke were coming from a garage, and a small RV in the driveway was also on fire, said Battalion Chief Chris Ekk with the Hanford Fire Department. The fire extended into an attic space and the kitchen.
About 30% of the home had major fire damage and everything in the garage was destroyed, Ekk said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The residents were not home when the fire occurred and no one was injured, Ekk said.
The Kings County Fire Department also assisted at the fire. Firefighters were at the home for three hours, with investigators remaining on scene longer.
