A family of five was displaced Tuesday afternoon when a fire broke out in their home near Cantua Creek on the county's west side, Fresno County Cal Fire said.
Nobody was at the 1,800 square foot house at 29922 W. Mountain Ave. when the blaze began at about 12:50 p.m. because of an electrical malfunction, Capt. Ryan Michaels said.
Michaels estimated the damages at $80,000. The family was being helped by the American Red Cross Central Valley, he said.
