Highway crews will begin work Monday on a new chip seal overlay on a 14-mile stretch of Highway 198 in western Fresno County, with one-way traffic control during daytime hours.
Work is planned between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. with closures between El Dorado Avenue, near Interstate 5, and the Fresno-Kings County line.
Also starting Monday, crews will begin restriping a 21-mile portion of Highway 198 near Coalinga from Warthan Creek to Alcade Avenue. That work will also happen between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Caltrans said drivers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes. Flag crews and pilot cars will guide traffic through the work area. Caltrans did not report how long the work is expected to take.
