Gas prices in the Fresno area rose 4 cents over the past month to an average $3.83 and remained steady at $3.87 in the Visalia-Tulare-Porterville area, according to AAA of Northern California.
AAA released its monthly gas prices report Tuesday.
Statewide, prices rose 2 cents to an average $3.91. Half of California's cities saw a slight increase in prices and half saw a slight decrease.
Plentiful gasoline supplies, weak demand, a mild hurricane season and the coming switch to the cheaper winter blend of gasoline should push prices down in California this fall, according to AAA.
Nationwide, prices rose 2 cents to $3.56.
