After being closed to the public since mid-August because of the Aspen fire, access to the Kaiser Wilderness at Sierra National Forest re-opens Saturday.
The Aspen Fire burned inside the Kaiser Wilderness to the north of Kaiser Ridge.
Smoke may still be seen from the ridge top and Kaiser Peak but there is no need to report it, spokeswoman Rebecca Garcia said.
The public is advised to avoid burned areas for personal safety, Garcia said. Visitors to the Sierra National Forest are reminded that temporary fire restrictions remain in place.
