A 26-year-old man died and four others were injured in a four-vehicle crash Tuesday night near Table Mountain Casino, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The collision, reported at 9:46 p.m., also caused three moderate injuries and one minor injury, according to CHP reports.
The collision occurred when the driver of a 1997 Honda that was westbound on Millerton Road lost control and drove onto the right shoulder. As the driver attempted to correct his vehicle, he turned it abruptly into eastbound traffic and into the path of a 2000 Honda.
After striking the 1997 Honda, the 2000 Honda spun out into the path of a westbound Acura. The 1997 Honda kept spinning and also struck a 2011 Dodge.
The man who died was a passenger in the 2000 Honda. He was identified by the CHP as Norman Jone Tes of Fresno.
No arrests were made, but the crash remains under investigation.
