Thunderstorms are possible in the central and southern San Joaquin Valley until noon or 1 p.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service said.
Moisture from a tropical depression swept into the Valley late last week, causing higher humidity and clouds, but is being pushed east by a weather disturbance from the Gulf of Alaska, said Carlos Molina, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Hanford.
Sunny skies will prevail Tuesday in the region, he said.
The high in Fresno is expected to be 94 on Tuesday and 97 on Wednesday.
High temperatures are forecast in the 90s through Thursday in the region and in the low 100s Friday through Monday due to a high pressure system, the Weather Service said.
