A 27-year-old Fresno man was in the hospital Sunday evening after jumping out of a minivan that his girlfriend was driving on Ashlan Avenue west of Highway 99, police said.
The boyfriend, who was not identified, was arguing with his girlfriend when he dove out of the gray Plymouth Voyager that was headed west on Ashlan Avenue east of Grantland Avenue at 7:14 p.m., Fresno police Sgt. Steve Presser said.
The unidentified girlfriend told officers she was driving between 20 to 30 mph when her boyfriend jumped. It is not known if the boyfriend jumped to get out of the argument or as an attempt to injure himself, Presser said.
The girlfriend called 911 and attempted to give CPR to her boyfriend, who was later taken to Community Regional Medical Center. His condition is not immediately known, Presser said.
