Firefighters continue to make strong advances on two blazes burning near the central San Joaquin Valley.
The Rim fire, burning in Yosemite National Park and the Stanislaus National Forest, was 32% contained Friday morning, although evacuations remain in effect and 4,500 residences are still threatened. About 201,894 acres acres have burned.
The Fish fire, which erupted 25 miles northeast of Springville in the Sequoia National Forest, is 40% contained after consuming 2,060 acres.
Meanwhile, the Associated Press is reporting that some potential visitors are nervous about coming to Yosemite this weekend.
