The California Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that injured four, one critically, southeast of Porterville.
The crash occurred about 8:50 a.m. Monday in a T-intersection of Avenue 70 and Road 256, southeast of Terra Bella, according to CHP reports.
A sport-utility vehicle driver had turned off Avenue 70 and was struck by a southbound tractor-trailer rig on Avenue 256, the CHP said.
Three people in the SUV were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia and a 5-year-old child was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center with critical injuries, according to CHP reports. The occupants of the sport-utility vehicle all were from Portetrville.
The big-rig driver, who also is from Porterville, was not injured. The identities of those involved were not immediately available.
