Salmon return to Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor

Several years ago thousands of salmon smolts were planted in the Yacht Harbor in Santa Cruz, and they finally returned this year. Fisherman have been showing up as early as 3:30 a.m. to get a prime spot where the creek empties into the harbor. The average size of the fish is around 10-15 pounds and they are mostly bright fish, just in from the ocean.
