Japan soars to World Boys Baseball Tournament title in Clovis

The Japanese team celebrated in earnest Tuesday after completing a clean sweep of the field and earning the championship at the World Boys Baseball Tournament in Clovis by defeating Korea. Team captain Taiki Nagahama and pitcher Soichiro Yamazaki led the 7-0 victory. Earlier, the Fresno team earned bronze medals after topping San Diego 12-2. The five-day event featured eight teams with players ages 14-15.
