Fresno Unified schools hold late-night events for registration Tuesday

Parents can sign up their kids for classes at Fresno Unified schools at a special late-night registration session Tuesday.

All district schools will be open and staffed until 7 p.m.

Certain schools also will host immunization clinics this week for incoming kindergartners and seventh graders, both of whom are required to get a host of vaccinations before school starts Aug. 19.

All students entering kindergarten need shots for polio, DPT (diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus), MMR (mumps, measles and rubella), chickenpox and hepatitis b. Seventh graders need to be vaccinated against whooping cough.

Those inoculations are free for children insured through Medi-Cal and low-income students without insurance.

  • Tuesday: Fresno Unified Instructional Media Center, 2 p.m.-7 p.m.
