Steve Wilson of Cleveland, Ohio, relaxes on the shore of Huntington Lake late Wednesday afternoon, July 24, 2013 near the Billy Creek campground. Wilson, who used to live in Fresno, was one week into a two or three week vacation, had forgotten his eyeglasses so left the book at his side and watched the golden late sun over the lake from a forest fire earlier in the day.

While the central San Joaquin Valley returned to triple-digit temperatures again Wednesday, visitors to the High Sierra can enjoy temperatures reaching just the low 80s.

Former Fresno resident Steve Wilson of Cleveland, Ohio, found a great place next to Huntington Lake late Wednesday afternoon to enjoy the setting sun.

The forecast for the Huntington Lake area is some smoke from the nearby forest fire, but mostly clear and sunny with isolated showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Thursday. Thursday's high is forecast to be near 81, the National Weather Service said.

Meanwhile, the weather service said the high temperature Wednesday at Fresno Yosemite International Airport was 102 degrees, with a forecast of triple-digit highs through the weekend.
