CYCLING: CLIMB TO KAISER

The skinny: About 200 cyclists will be on the road for the 36th annual edition of the ride this morning beginning at Alta Sierra Intermediate in Clovis before heading into the foothills around Tollhouse and then the mountain areas of Shaver Lake, Big Creek and Huntington Lake. The descent comes through Auberry and Prather before finishing to Clovis. … Record time for the 155-mile ride is 8 hours flat by Brandon Franklin in 2011.

SOCCER: FRESNO FUEGO AT SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA SEAHORSES

The skinny: Fuego midfelder Paul Islas, who had a goal and an assist in the Fuego's 3-1 win over FC Tucson on June 22, was named to the PDL Team of the Week for the second time this season. Islas leads the Fuego with seven goals and 18 points, while his four assists are second to Tyler Reinhart (five).

MOUNTAIN BIKE RACING: CHINA PEAK ENDURO

Sunday: 9 a.m. at China Peak Mountain Resort

The skinny: The race is designed with the European and Enduro World Series formats. … Riders will race 15-20 miles with about 2,500-3,000 feet of climbing and more than 5,000 feet of descending.
